L.B. Foster Successfully Installs Four PROTECTOR® IV Friction Management Units in Catania, Italy

We are proud to announce that through collaboration with Italy's Ferrovia Circumetnea and our local Italian partners, we have successfully completed the installation of four customized PROTECTOR® IV Friction Management units, incorporating advanced Remote Performance Monitoring technology, in an underground tunnel.
Due to space restrictions and the location of the units underneath the emergency walkway in the tunnel, each unit featured a unique detachable product tank and electrical cabinet lids to enable fast and easy refilling with friction modifier. The units also had a bespoke mounting solution to secure the units to the tunnel floor. This project is a great example of how we work as a partner with rail operators across Europe and how we listen and adapt our solutions to customers with specific needs.
