Our Rail Technologies Group is providing alternative and efficient options with our mobile response reconditioning services.
The Friction Management Field Services Group of L.B. Foster Rail Technologies provides Class 1 and industrial railroad customers with mobile response reconditioning services on aging or damaged gauge face (GF) grease application bars and accessories. These proprietary GF bars are part of an innovative friction management system that applies efficient lubrication to the gauge face of the rail under a comprehensive range of performance requirements.
The benefits of this type of reconditioning service over a more traditional on-track service arrangement permits railroad equipment crews to pull identified GF bars that need to be repaired at their own convenience. L.B. Foster mobile field technician units are fitted with all the necessary parts and equipment to refurbish the GF bars in efficient batches at the railroad’s yard or depot.
“This program really helps to save time and money by eliminating the standard supply chain logistics required to order new replacement equipment. On average, it saves 35% to 50% over full bar replacement costs,” comments Shayne Meyers, Commercial Manager, Friction Management Products.
