L.B. Foster was honored to attend the Railway Industry Association (RIA) Parliamentary Reception 2025, held at the Houses of Parliament in London. This prestigious event provided an invaluable platform for RIA members, politicians, stakeholders, and key players in the rail industry to strengthen industry-political relationships and discuss the future of rail in the UK.
In 2024, L.B. Foster had the distinct privilege of hosting Lilian Greenwood MP, the Member of Parliament for Nottingham South. Her visit was made possible through the RIA's Rail Fellowship Program, an initiative designed to foster stronger relationships between politicians and rail suppliers. During her visit, Lilian Greenwood engaged with L.B. Foster’s Inform team, gaining insights into our pioneering British Sign Language (BSL) solution on our Inform customer information screens.
The Parliamentary Reception was followed by the Rail Fellowship Program Award Ceremony, where both MPs and suppliers were acknowledged for their active participation in the program. Anthony Thompson, Senior Business Development Manager at L.B. Foster, had the honor of presenting Lilian Greenwood MP with an award, recognizing her participation in the Rail Fellowship Program.
Distinguished Speakers and Keynote Addresses
The event was graced by a series of keynote speeches from prominent figures in the rail sector and politicians:
Catherine Atkinson MP
Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill CBE, Minister for Rail
Gareth Bacon, Shadow Secretary of State for Transport
Paul Kohler, Liberal Democrats Transport Spokesperson
Sir Andrew Haines OBE, Chief Executive of Network Rail
Darren Caplan, Chief Executive of the Railway Industry Association (RIA)
L.B. Foster remains dedicated to fostering strong relationships within the rail industry and supporting initiatives that drive collaboration and innovation.
