Interface Journal recently published an article titled, “On-Board Top of Rail Friction Modifier Application: A More Efficient Approach?” which focuses on the 2024 International Conference on Research Infrastructures (ICRI) presentation on KELTRACK® On-Board (KOB), that was given by Marco Santoro, Manager of Global Friction Management Applications.
On-board top-of-rail friction modifiers are transforming rail operations by reducing wear, noise, and fuel costs while simplifying maintenance compared to traditional wayside systems. Marco's presentation provided real-world results and explained why railroads and transit systems are increasingly adopting this technology.
L.B. Foster's KELTRACK® On-Board (KOB) is a vehicle mounted Top-of-Rail (TOR) spray application system that dispenses an atomized stream of KELTRACK® Friction Modifier (KELTRACK® AP EX) to the railhead.
