On Friday, April 18, 2025, L.B. Foster's subsidiary, CXT® Inc., cast four Envirocast® panels to be utilized in a two-hour fire-resistance test at a certified laboratory in Texas.

The panels are part of an evaluation to verify a 2-hour fire-resistance rating, a requirement for common walls in multi-family residential structures such as townhomes and duplexes.
The panels were manufactured under the oversight of ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES), an independent third-party organization that conducts rigorous product evaluations to ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.
The upcoming test, to be conducted at an ICC-accredited facility, will determine whether the panels meet the industry standard for fire resistance. Achieving a 2-hour rating means that the wall system can withstand fire exposure for up to two hours without structural failure—an essential safeguard in residential construction that prioritizes occupant safety and property protection.
The Envirocast wall system offers a durable and efficient solution for builders seeking code-compliant, precast wall assemblies. With rising demand for multi-family housing, fire-rated solutions like Envirocast play a vital role in meeting safety and regulatory requirements.
Testing results are expected later this quarter. If successful, the panels will further solidify Envirocast’s position as a preferred wall system for fire-rated applications in residential construction.
