The 4,545-foot PennDOT bridge will ease congestion for travelers along U.S. Route 15 Corridor.

Construction of a new bridge over the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, which will connect a 13-mile limited access bypass highway along U.S. Route 15 to Pennsylvania Route 61, is well underway and expected to be completed later this year.

The 4,545-foot PennDOT maintained Central Susquehanna Valley Thruway (CSVT) bridge, being constructed by Trumbull Corp. of Pittsburgh, PA, includes 15 spans and 327,000 sq. ft. of stay-in-place steel bridge deck forms produced by L.B. Foster at its facility in Bedford, PA.

“Our corrugated steel bridge forms are custom fabricated to the bridge’s specifications providing fast, safe and easy placement. The forms are bundled, marked for position and shipped ready for installation,” commented Pat Rodak, Bridge Forms Sales Representative, L.B. Foster Company.

The $156 million bridge project represents the first of seven contracts required to complete the CSVT, the largest new highway capacity project in Pennsylvania.
